His specialized musical interests encompass Brazilian melodies, jazz, and music theory. His knowledge of theory provides a vital contribution to the development of the intricate, unique sounds that constitute Lick Creek.

Eric's musical odyssey began in high school as a rock musician in an electric band for an eight-year stint followed by his conversion to acoustic with Lick Creek.

His infamous band antics include a toot or two on the kazoo and ersatz drum playing during musical emergencies.

His lyrics to "Viva Livonia" have achieved legendary status within his county of residence and beyond. Eric serves as primary sound technician for the band.
